Hunched Heart

directed by:
Emre Özerden
This study aims at pointing the harshness of quotidianly existence and the pressure by social values over men. This study provides a critical gaze to the life practices by disclosing those ignored eerie aspects of the life. The film Kambur Kalp (Hunched Heart), with its surrealistic elements, adopts a narrative style that is uncommon in our country. Surrealistic reality offers both its producer and its consumer a space that overcomes contradictions, confusions, and paradoxes, in which one can think and produce freely. The goal of this project, which was built on the idea that "the fundamental problem of the Turkish cinema is not realism, but the issue of persuasiveness", is to give visibility to the most common and the most ignored problem of our age, mood-anxiety disorders, and therefore steer the problem to the solution.
