THE SIMPLE PROCESS
The best entries will be selected and screened every month a year. We will publish the results of the Official Selection every last day of the month, according to the Submission Notification sent in advance and the Official Screenings will take place the next month.
A jury of film professionals will review all eligible submitted films, evaluating from an independent point of view, seeking the energy and new ideas that will contour the future of the cinema.
The festival team will create an Official Selection of all the nominated films for each category. These projects will have a chance to win one of the many awards announced at the festival, and those selected in the Competition Categories will be screened in front of a live audience at the Unteatru Theatre in Bucharest. There will be laurels available for the nominated films and certificates for the winners.
* THE PRIZES WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON FILMFREEWAY EVERY MONTH *
There will be a total of 12 screenings in a competition year. The films entering the Official Competition (Best Film, Runner-ups, Category Award & Individual Award nominations) will be screened at the above mentioned location. All submissions are made via FilmFreeway.
Only short films with a duration of up to 40 minutes are accepted. All films must have been made in or after 2017 and have English subtitles (except for music videos and unless English is the main language spoken). Any genre and format is accepted (from 1 minute films to long, narrative/artistic films).
In case we do not receive enough entries for a category (at least 3 entries must be received in order for that category to be eligible) we will move those entries into a corresponding category.
The filmmaker/institution that is submitting the film must own the rights to do so and is responsible for the content they are providing.
